City Hall Intentionally Left Open For Vandalism

The media has portrayed Occupy Oakland as violent. The horrific amount of police brutality that happend on Move in day has been overlooked in favor of burnt flags and broken vending machines. A pregnant woman had her teeth kicked in. Another several of my friends had their faces smashed into the ground for uttering that they would not be intimidated. One woman and her child were chased down the street by riot police with batons as he screamed “child endangerment” at her. This was before the flag burning, before the city hall, before the YMCA kettle, this was all because someone dared to tear down a fence. How many times has OWS torn down a fence, or pulled back a barricade?

Maybe it’s time we stop listening to the Mainstream Media?

Call me crazy but a vending machine, a flag, and a fence should never matter more than a child, or any human being. It should not be property over people.

Which side of history?: Two Important Lessons I learned from Occupy Oakland Move-In Day
